Love It or Hate It? Dakota Fanning’s Couture Cat Ears

While we’re talking about December magazine issues featuring chic and stylish celebs (hey there, Jennifer Lawrence!), let’s take a look at InStyle’s newest cover girl: Dakota Fanning! The actress gives a fabulous new interview in the magazine’s December 2012 issue wherein she address the coming conclusion of The Twilight Saga, how she feels about the media frenzy surrounding friend and co-star Kristen Stewart, and more.
And of course, Dakota also posed for a pretty spectacular photo shoot to accompany the article. The shoot features looks from both Chanel and Roberto Cavalli. The Chanel looks, while perfectly lovely, fall into the same group as all the other white, princess-y, and (dare we say) virginal looks that most stylist love to put the actress in. Why is this type of look their default for her? No idea; maybe it has something to do with her angelic, white-blonde hair and super fair skin.
The Cavalli looks, though? Those are a wee bit more interesting, especially the one seen here. We’re loving the bold, bronze skirt… And how about those black lace cat ears? Here’s a closer look at them:

Most expensive Halloween costume ever? A whimsical winter hat for the rich and famous? The couture version of a spirit hood? Whatever they are, we’re kind of loving them. No, we couldn’t picture anyone wearing them in real life—not even Dakota—but they’re a fun twist on the usual fashion shoot. What about you, Bettys? Love them or hate them?

On Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2: “There’s a sequence in it that will really trip people out. It’s so crazy! They’ll be shocked. But they’ll recover. You’ll see.”
On Kristen Stewart (and in her defense): “Well, I just think that media frenzies like that… Everyone thinks they have the right to, you know, publicize the struggles and sadness and heartbreak and all of that. It’s like, ‘Why do you think you are the authority to judge people’s experiences?’”
On not kissing and telling: “I’m not the kind of girl who really wants boyfriends in my life. I’m very black and white in what I feel and I don’t want to be with someone that I don’t foresee spending a long time with.”
